10 Reasons We Don't Use Color Bands on Braces

Last week our team attended the 2019 Ormco Forum in San Antonio, Texas!

Dr. Jeff, Dr. Mike and the Koz team are dedicated to developing our skills and our team constantly to ensure you are always getting the most advanced, innovative and comfortable treatment from the best in the business.

At the end of February, we were fortunate to attend the 2019 Ormco Forum in San Antonio, Texas- yes, all 21 of us! This conference is a yearly event hosted for orthodontists and their teams from all over the world to come learn about new technologies and developments in the ortho world, listen to the most experienced and talented doctors and experts share their best practices, and to network with other professionals that help us develop our ideas and implement new ones too.

Our entire team would agree that growth and development are at the forefront of our focus of providing the best care possible for our patients. We are always eager to learn about new advances in orthodontic mechanics, treatment options, and ways we can better our patients’ experience, and Dr. Jeff and Dr. Mike are no exception to this hunger for new knowledge. We attended informative and powerful lectures at the Forum from some of the most admired doctors in the world to learn about how orthodontics really is an art form, how small changes and personal touches can make a huge impact in our office, digital treatment coordination and much more! Each and every lecture we attend inspires us and motivates us to be better at what we do because we know our patients deserve the most high-quality treatment available, given to them by a team that feels like family.

Included in the impressive lineup of Forum lecturing orthodontists was yet again, our very own Dr. Jeff. Our team gets to learn from his expertise daily, and at the Forum, over 1500 other doctors and team members got to share in the excellence too! This year, Dr. Jeff’s lecture focused on clinical efficiency and how we manage our schedule in the office, which gave other offices insight on how we have developed a carefully-crafted, organized yet flexible system for seeing our patients in a manner that is timely but thorough and delivers a healthy, confident smile every time. We were so proud to be in the front row cheering him on and seeing our own skills, science, and office culture up there on the big screen.

Also included in the prestigious lineup was our very own clinical coordinator, Caitlin! She gave a lecture on team culture, development and how to run your clinic efficiently to be respectful of the patient’s time in the office. Major highlights were on how to hire superstars and grow and develop your team to elevate them to be next-level clinical assistants. This is her first time lecturing at the Damon Forum and Dr. Jeff, Dr. Mike and the entire team could not be more proud of her!

Not only do orthodontists and their teams know how to deliver amazing smiles and teach and grow from one another, but we sure know how to have fun too! The Forum concluded with a huge celebration at a real Texas ranch with a live rodeo complete with cowboys and rodeo clowns, mechanical bull-riding, a campfire with s’mores, and of course, two-stepping the night away. This was a once-in-a-lifetime experience for us and we all had a blast, even though Dr. Mike learned he may not want to trade in his Crossfit gear for chaps… (check out this video of him riding the mechanical bull!) https://youtu.be/C-l1G7RExC0

We are so grateful to our patients and their families for allowing us to have this time out of the office to learn and develop together. Join us in congratulating Dr. Jeff on another incredible lecture and next time you see him, see if he’ll show you his “honeybee dance” that he did for the Forum attendees- don’t say we didn’t warn you!
